The Huayna Potosí is a well know mountain with glaciated peak and a height of 6,088 m (19,974 feet). If you are in good shape, healthy and physically well trained then with a guide and a day of special training you can climb this peak, even if you are not an expert.
Definitely a great challenge but worthwhile and paid back by the incredible and unforgettable view over the Cordillera Real, La Paz and down into the green of the Yungas.
Very important: you need to be acclimatized at least for a full week in and around La Paz for climbing that height.

Mountain Biking on the “World’s Most Dangerous Road”

1 day
The former main throughway connects La Paz to the Amazon basin. Because of its bad conditions, poor driving and technical failure a lot of cars, bus and trucks fall down the deep valley and caused a lot of casualties. A report of the Inter-American Development Bank in 1995 named it the “World’s Most Dangerous Road”.  Now for half of the distance there’s a new paved road and the old one becomes a mountain biker’s paradise.
Like nowhere in the world you can take a full-suspension mountain bike ride tour down this road. The ride descends more than 3,000 m (10,000 feet) in just 78 km (48 miles), starting at the pass over La Paz at 4600m (often with snow and fog) and leading down to the warm village of Coroico, right with green vegetation and palms. The road clings to the steep mountainsides of the Andes. It is an adventure that many travelers choose, though it is not for the faint-hearted.
Every year more than 100 people die on this road, one of them a mountain biker. Therefore we care about good biking equipment and encourage you to be cautious.
